At St. William’s we recognise the importance of the Government Green Paper December 2017, ‘Transforming Children and Young People’s Mental Health Provision’ and ‘Mental Health and Behaviour in Schools ‘guidance 2018 and therefore seek to ensure we secure good mental health for all members of our school community. As such, we are proud to have six qualified TIS UK Practitioners working within our school.
Our aim is to support children with social, emotional and mental health problems at the earliest opportunity to prevent the development of serious mental health problems as children grow into young people and adults.
Our TIS UK Practitioners are:
• Mrs Ellis- Headteacher;
• Mrs Walls- Assistant Headteacher;
• Mr Gaskell-Class Teacher;
• Miss Pennington- Teaching Assistant KS2;
• Miss Baybutt-Teaching Assistant KS1;
• Miss Taylor- Teaching Assistant EYFS;
Our Senior Mental Health lead in school is Mrs Walls.
In addition to TISUK practitioners, we have a counsellor from the Wigan Family Welfare Team and a trained specialist from the Sensory Mobile Hub, SENSORIEL, who both come into school each week.
